Final English exam

This paper will be about what we have learned this year and what think about some themes. I will talk about the affect of fear on individuals, the role of ambition and power and mercy vs. revenge. I chose those topics because I think that if someone would understand how people react to those topics, they could manipulate crowds people. Power is a key to success for many and some books or events have forged the definition of a world that can control the word.

I think that the affect of individuals can be major and can help someone manipulate large crowds and masses of people. For example, in “The Lord of The Flies” by William Golding, Jake used the “Beast” to take control of the island and the group of adolescents that where living there. In that event, fear made the children not think and commit acts that in their normal life would never have done. An other example would be in the second world war, where a teenager and her family where hiding form the Nazi, fear forced them to hid in the attic of an office with a family that they couldn’t get along with. The Nazi also used fear to control the mentally ill, handicapped and form Jewish religion to not revolt. I think that those 2 examples are good for describing how one man can control crowds but not how fear affects yourself. The poetry semester, its poetry night and the drama exploratory showed us how fear can push someone to react and write. Personally, I had the drama exploratory at the same time as the poetry unit. In drama, we learned a lot about how to control ourselves and expand our comfort zone, this really helped for the poetry unit where we had to write our feelings on paper and share them with other, the fear also came when you where standing on a chair inform of the class wondering if your poem as good enough. The poetry night and the idea of sharing all your feelings to your parents and to strangers was one of the biggest fears of the year. People where behaving nervously and some even got crazy! It was really interesting to see and understand how a normally confident individual changed because of fear.

The role of ambition and power is a priority to understand in order for some one to take control. In the second world war, when Hitler was getting more and more power and his plan to annihilate the Jewish religion was coming closer to its accomplishment, his ambition to create the perfect world was so strong that other Germans felt it and though that it was the right thing to do. Hitler’s power was gained form his ambition and was so great that he turned Germany against the Jews and their believes.  “The Tempest” showed what the power that Hitler was close to acquire was. Prospero could control anyone he wanted and obtained what he desired. With such power of control, he could do anything he wanted, if Hitler got that “magical” power, he could control nations and turn the world to what he wanted! Ambition is a key to success and power, this is illustrated in our poetry night, where for some of us, ambition was the only thing that was holding us from breaking down and giving up. Ambition can push people to do things that they would never dare nor try to do.

Finally, my last topic is mercy versus revenge. Most teens these days prefer revenge because it is easier, faster an makes you feel better but some of us understand the beauty of forgiving. Forgiving is also a key part in understand yourself. Prospero realized this after releasing his anger and fury on the nobles that had destroyed his political power. Some other people are so forgiving hat they may lose their lives. This happened in “The Lord of The Flies” when Sam was so innocent and forgiving that he never resisted when others bullied or controlled him. Personally, I am very forgiving and that have lead to some people thinking they can control me or use me but forgiveness isn’t the same as being weak. I think that Goldings forgiveness was to extreme and mixing fragility and forgiveness wasn’t the best idea.

That was my opinion and description of topics that I find interesting and important. Power, mercy and fear are the key factory of understanding how some events such as the holocaust or even a poetry night may become so successful and why people let some horrible things happened. This year has bee full of emotions and one of the worst ones yet but I have learned some important information about life that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

looking at WoW form different lenses

I will compare how people form different class, age and location think about the MMORPG World of Warcraft

Class: knowing that this game has a monthly fee of 120RM, some poor child in Africa would never be able to afford it. He would mostly not even know about the game but if he did, he would probably think that it is a waist of the little money he earns a year. It would also be to time consuming for him so he couldn’t work that much and earn his money, the game play is still simple but it would be to complicated for him, as a not educated person to understand what to do and how to use the spells and abilities you get.

Age: for a 50+, he would think that the game is violent and useless. At their time, they went out and played out side and wasn’t stuck in front of a screen all the time and living in a virtual world. 120RM a month is absurd for a game and you could have fun cheaper! It is also bad for studies; they think that kids would rush to finish their homework so they could play. Also, all the article adults do about how some games are addictive and how they influence the players, they probably never played it and are too old to understand what kids think. They usually take their ideas by comparing what they did when they where kids but the world has evolved! That influences adults a lot regarding games like WoW.

Location: if the person was living in a village in Africa, 1st, it is doubtful that he would have electricity. Then, because he has many choirs to do to survive so he wouldn’t have time to play… then the cost is WAY to expensive for him.

Now someone living In the U.S.: he would have enough money to have 10 accounts, plenty of time even with work. A perfect internet connection so the game wouldn’t lag (lag: when a game server freezes or does something that isn’t suppose to happened) that much.

poetry unite reflection

Reflective Journal for the Poetry Unit

This third quarter of the year, we had our poetry unit. Our teacher, Mr. R., taught us how to write poetry, how to write about smell, touch or sound, we learned the different types of poems, message poems, haiku, and many more, we also learned how to understand and evaluate poetry. We didn’t have any debates like in the 1st quarter, instead we had small exercises, he gave us a photograph that was suppose to give inspiration and then he gave us 15 minutes to write a poem about that image, each time, we had to write it using different styles or voice. I really didn’t like that fact that we didn’t have a book to read and I already read everything that interested me, I wanted to come to the last quarter as fast as possible. Neither did we have a movie about the unit but we did have a “final” for this quarter, the poetry night.

First, we had to make at least 25 poems. My 1st poem was the most difficult one because I wasn’t used to write poems. We had to write about an image, the shadow of a man jumping from a ladder floating in the water to land. It was really hard but luckily we had a guideline that gave us a starting phrase for each of the four lines that we had to write.  However I managed to write a nice poem. This process was new to us and very different previously done. If I could rewrite that poem, it would have been different from the first draft because my poetry skills were not so good in the beginning. I would have tried to give the reader a sense of smell, sound and touch. This first try for us to write a poem was a key step. I was a self directed learner because I demonstrated competency in goal setting, time management, and organizational skills. We had to write 15 poems as homework for a due date but 10 poems had to be written on own for the book.

After completing a second draft poem we had to read it out loud, in front of the class, standing on a chair. Mr. Raisdana said that the idea of standing on a chair would give us the feeling of being above the others. By doing that we were suppose to get the feeling of owning the stage and that would give us more confidence. Personally it felt weird, but I know that some classmates were scared and others felt secured. If he hasn’t provided us the idea with the chair, most of us would have felt less sure of ourselves, not many would have read at the final poetry night. This was a good way to become an effective communicator, someone who collaborates with others in appropriate learning situations to achieve group goals because we respected the others and didn’t laugh if we didn’t like their poems.

In this quarter we had two classes in which we learned how to take creative photographs. In the first class we learned the basics of taken photos and how to make good use of the lighting. In the last part we went out and took inspiring photos of the whole school. In the second class we customized the photos to make them even better! We used Iphoto, which is a Mac Photoshop, where we changed the contrast, brightness and black and white settings. That made the photos more dramatic. Finally, later in the quarter we got to arrange all the photos to make a movie presentation of our school. The tricky part of that was we couldn’t show the name of our school, the symbols of the school nor anybody’s faces. Because are school policy says that we are not allowed to give any clues so that someone can locate our school. This was very different from previous assignments because for the first time we showed poetry through pictures and not simply by text. We where academic achievers and an involved citizens because we showed or school to the world and made a movie. An academic achiever Demonstrate technological literacy and the use of technology as a tool for the efficient and creative completion of a project like the movie we made.

One very interesting assignment was the teen life project. In this project we had to work with two other classes, one in Canada and the other one in the USA. We had to create a video, in where we were suppose to illustrate a message to the world about something that is happening to our planet. Our grade was assigned to make a message poem about the subject, while the Canadian class was assigned to create a storyboard and the American class had to create a movie. My task was to show a message about terrorism and to create a poem. I was inspired by a documentary I saw on National Geographic about lions and their preys, where the lions represents the terrorists and the preys the innocent victims. The whole project opened up the eyes of many people and it was a great success, mainly because Mr. Fisher’s class introduced the project to the city where they lives and also because the project was online. This one shows perfectly an involved citizen because we demonstrated care and concern for the environment by creating warnings and messages about important stuff in our world.

The poetry night was about what we had done in English class this quarter, every poem that we wrote we made in to a book. This book we showed to our parents, teachers and students at this final evening. We had only four days on the book assignment but most of us made a great effort and a great job. I thought that my book was good and used a nice black book where I glued in my poems on a brownish paper. In the beginning I had done an explanation of all the poems and a little description of myself. For the poetry night we made invitations in yellow paper, they had a nice drawing on the front and on the inside was a message saying that “you and your family were invited”. We also made another invitation that we could give to anyone. Sai and Sarah where organizing the food and beverage by asking around the students what they could bring to the evening. It was a success; the table was full of goodies. The evening started at seven o’clock and was located in the conference room. I think we must have been around 150 people. All the invited could write poetry, read the poetry books and have a nice snack. At the very end all of the students would go on stage and read out loud their poems. I read my favorite poem “On my road”, I think it was a great success. This one covers all the ESLRS, but mostly involved citizen and effective communicator. Showing our work to the school and reading it loud are good examples.

Conclusion

During this unit we learned how to write poetry, create movies and pictures, go on stage and face your fears and get involved in imported reality projects.

the tempest

Line 349-356 354-356
If thou more murmur’st, I will rend an oak and peg thee in his knotty entrails till thou hast howled away 12 winters
Do so, and after two days I will discharge you
If you make one more sound I will rip your guts and peg them to an oak for 12 years
Do that and after 2 days you will be free.

Line 519-523
“A single thing, as I am now, that wonders to hear thee speak of Naples. He does hear me, and that he does I weep. Myself am Naples, who with mine eyes, never since at ebb, beheld the king my father wracked.”

Why does prospero mistreat Caliban and Ariel?

Why did Prospero make the boat crash on the island and all the travelers without any injury?

Curent event

 My current event is about a new kind of bean. It is a natural bean found in Asia that changes, once eaten, bitter tastes into sweet ones, so after chewing the bean for 2 minutes, you can take a lemon and eat it and it would taste good! For the moment only 1 or 2 restaurants are using them, all located in Tokyo. The actual bean doesn’t block the bitter sensor on you tong, it is actually the skin that makes this bean special. This would change the world because low fat cakes, which normally taste bitter, would taste exactly like a normal one but with 1/3 of the calories! For the moment it is only found in Tokyo and not in sale. Scientists have just made a tablet version of the bean which is in store for 50 USD in packs of 10. These tablets would really help fight obesity in the world.

Edgar Allan Poe

jb_nation_poe_1_m.jpghe was born in
Boston, Massachusetts. Poe’s parents died before he was three John and Frances Allan raised him as a foster child in
Richmond.
Poe began to sell short stories to magazines at around this time, and, in 1835, he became the editor of the Southern Literary Messenger in
Richmond. He brought his aunt and twelve-year-old cousin, Virginia Clemm, with him to
Richmond. He married
Virginia in 1836. he established himself as a poet, a short-story writer, and an editor. He published some of his best-known stories and poems including “The Fall of the House of Usher,” “The Tell-Tale Heart,” “The Murders in the Rue Morgue,” and “The Raven.” After
Virginia’s death, Poe’s life-long struggle with depression and alcoholism worsened. On October 3, 1849, he was found in a state of semi-consciousness. Poe died four days later of “acute congestion of the brain.”
The raven

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
 Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore–
 While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
 As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door–
 “‘Tis some visitor,” I muttered, “tapping at my chamber door–
                Only this and nothing more.”

 Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December;
 And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
 Eagerly I wished the morrow;–vainly I had sought to borrow
 From my books surcease of sorrow–sorrow for the lost Lenore–
 For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore–
                Nameless here for evermore.

 And the silken, sad, uncertain rustling of each purple curtain
 Thrilled me–filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before;
 So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating,
 “‘Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door–
 Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door;–
                This it is and nothing more.”

 Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer,
 “Sir,” said I, “or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore;
 But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping,
 And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door,
 That I scarce was sure I heard you”–here I opened wide the door;—-
                Darkness there and nothing more.

 Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,
 Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;
 But the silence was unbroken, and the stillness gave no token,
 And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, “Lenore?”
 This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, “Lenore!”–
                Merely this and nothing more.

 Back into the chamber turning, all my soul within me burning,
 Soon again I heard a tapping somewhat louder than before.
 “Surely,” said I, “surely that is something at my window lattice;
 Let me see, then, what thereat is, and this mystery explore–
 Let my heart be still a moment and this mystery explore;–
                ‘Tis the wind and nothing more!”

 Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter,
 In there stepped a stately Raven of the saintly days of yore;
 Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he;
 But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door–
 Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door–
                 Perched, and sat, and nothing more.

 Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
 By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,
 “Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou,” I said, “art sure no craven,
 Ghastly grim and ancient Raven wandering from the Nightly shore–
 Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night’s Plutonian shore!”
                Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”

 Much I marvelled this ungainly fowl to hear discourse so plainly,
 Though its answer little meaning–little relevancy bore;
 For we cannot help agreeing that no living human being
 Ever yet was blest with seeing bird above his chamber door–
 Bird or beast upon the sculptured bust above his chamber door,
                With such name as “Nevermore.”

 But the Raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only
 That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.
 Nothing further then he uttered–not a feather then he fluttered–
 Till I scarcely more than muttered “Other friends have flown before–
 On the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before.”
                Then the bird said “Nevermore.”

 Startled at the stillness broken by reply so aptly spoken,
 “Doubtless,” said I, “what it utters is its only stock and store
 Caught from some unhappy master whom unmerciful Disaster
 Followed fast and followed faster till his songs one burden bore–
 Till the dirges of his Hope that melancholy burden bore
                Of ‘Never–nevermore.’”

 But the Raven still beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
 Straight I wheeled a cushioned seat in front of bird, and bust and door;
 Then, upon the velvet sinking, I betook myself to linking
 Fancy unto fancy, thinking what this ominous bird of yore–
 What this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt and ominous bird of yore
                Meant in croaking “Nevermore.”

 This I sat engaged in guessing, but no syllable expressing
 To the fowl whose fiery eyes now burned into my bosom’s core;
 This and more I sat divining, with my head at ease reclining
 On the cushion’s velvet lining that the lamp-light gloated o’er,
 But whose velvet violet lining with the lamp-light gloating o’er,
                She shall press, ah, nevermore!

 Then, methought, the air grew denser, perfumed from an unseen censer
 Swung by Seraphim whose foot-falls tinkled on the tufted floor.
 “Wretch,” I cried, “thy God hath lent thee–by these angels he hath sent thee
 Respite–respite and nepenthe, from thy memories of Lenore;
 Quaff, oh quaff this kind nepenthe and forget this lost Lenore!”
               Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”

 “Prophet!” said I, “thing of evil!–prophet still, if bird or devil!–
 Whether Tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore,
 Desolate yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted–
 On this home by Horror haunted–tell me truly, I implore–
 Is there–is there balm in Gilead?–tell me–tell me, I implore!”
                Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”

 “Prophet!” said I, “thing of evil–prophet still, if bird or devil!
 By that Heaven that bends above us–by that God we both adore–
 Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn,
 It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore–
 Clasp a rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore.”
                 Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”

 “Be that word our sign in parting, bird or fiend!” I shrieked, upstarting
 “Get thee back into the tempest and the Night’s Plutonian shore!
 Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken!
 Leave my loneliness unbroken!–quit the bust above my door!
 Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!”
                Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”

 And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
 On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
 And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon’s that is dreaming,
 And the lamp-light o’er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
 And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
                Shall be lifted–nevermore!

I like how it feel like he is telling a story and not a poem and once you start reading, I found it hard to stop. It’s also interesting how he writes some words like o’er and Tis and how he nearly always end the verse with “Nevermore”. Also I found it easy to understand the context. But I didn’t like the fact that it is 4 pages long and too many rhymes.

Anne Frank final project

Describing, discussing meanings, explaining, comparing, discussing influence of symbols, images and sounds

Oumlee
Mariano
Daniel B

At the beginning of our memorial you enter a dark room with metal bars at a side and also the bottom which represent a jail like atmosphere. You will hear people screaming and crying for help. The people are longing for peace and freedom in the jail. The metal bars represent how the Jews had been captured and trapped by the Nazis and tortured by them. The moods we are trying to create are terror and sorrow. Besides this, we are also trying to across the fact that Jews were terribly frightened by Nazis and also how wars can change the world to totally terrify place.

Then you enter a circular room with the Star of David and the Nazi symbol overlapping each other on the floor. The Nazi symbol overlapping the Star of David represents the Nazi’s idea of total elimination of the Jews. You will hear the Hitler’s speech. The mood we are trying to across is fear. Also to show audience how Hitler made thousands of people to follow him and achieve such a cruel dream. The sound of people cheering will tell audience that it was not only Hitler who were evil and caused all this to happen but also them.

Then there are two ways that people can take. The way to the right leads to a passage way which represents Anne’s point of view to the events that are going on at the time. The passage to the left shows what’s going on during the holocaust.

The passage that represents Anne’s point of view starts with a trail of yellow tulips leading to an open area with a small pond in the middle. And you hear the sound of birds, wind and all sound of nature. The yellow tulips represent how Anne was hopeful and that she thought that everything was going to be ok at the end. We used yellow because the color yellow is bright and we thought it would be the best color to represent peace and hopes. The moods we are trying to create are hopeful and positive feelings. This part will show audience how positive Anne Frank was even though she was having terribly awful days only because she was part of Jews.

In the middle of the pond, there are 7 black swans and one white one. The white one represents Anne and her hope, while the other ones are the other people which are in hiding with her who were full of fears and lack of hopes. And you hear the sound of white swan. The lake with swans represents how Anne still had hope no matter what happened and no matter or how many times people told her that there was no hope. We used Black because the black represent dark, fear and negative things, but white represent hope, innocent and positive things. The mood we are trying to create is also hopeful.

Then the next corridor is filled with quotes from her diary. The quotes from her diary represent how Anne had grown from her immature self to a very intelligent and intellectual person who has made some realizations that people twice her age haven’t even made yet. And your can hear the sound of Anne saying all those quotes. By hearing it audience will realize how hopeful and positive she was no matter which situation she was in.

The other corridor starts of with train tracks on the ground and you hear the sounds of trains moving and people inside screaming. The train tracks represent how the Nazis used to take Jews to concentration camps. It also represents transportation to the hell and death, because the Jews who went to the camp they were either tortured or killed. The path will be really small and narrow because then audience will experience how it feels like to be in the train with hundreds of people crying and screaming. The moods we are trying to create are definitely misery but also panic and fear.

Then you enter a dark room with projections of pictures from the holocaust and of people going to concentrations camps. The dark room would represent the gas chambers were the Jews were systematically killed. There will be gas coming out and projection on the right and left sides with a sound of people coughing. The mood we are trying to create is cruelty. How thousands and thousands of people can do such a cruel thing to people who are just like us without feeling guilty. How people let this thing to happen and no one stopped it from happening. The influence we want is to make audience to do something to make this not to happen again, thousands people ending their life in 15 minutes…

Then both rooms come together to meet in a corridor and they lead into a bright room with a glass roof which would represent the liberation of all the Jews around Europe that had been captures by the Nazis. The path that connects has two colors. The dark side which is about concentration camp is black and it gets brighter and brighter when it comes close to the bright room with a glass. The sound will be calm and peaceful. The other side which is Anne Frank side’s path is bright and it gets only a bit darker when it comes close to the bright room with a glass. The sound we will use will be the song that creates the sadness. And when the two paths meets in the bright room with a glass the paths’ colors are the same. The sound will be calm but not gloomy. It represents that after long time of period the war ended. The Anne Frank died in the camp, but the other side was getting better and better (brighter and brighter). And in the end the good and bad balanced out just like now.

Comparing the symbols, images and sounds.

Our group thought the train part was the most powerful part. Because firstly, the train was a huge part during that time, it was transportation to the concentration camp. Secondly, we thought it will affect audience’ feelings, because people at that time did not know where they were going to and also for how long they will be going away. They barely got something to eat and space where they can comfort themselves. And they will experience by walking through the narrow path.

Brief description of how each member of our group contributed to the final product.

Daniel worked mostly on making the memorial and was involved during the designing. Also, he got pictures from the internet for the memorial. He also came when Oumlee and Mariano worked on writing and helped up to describe the memorial and all the details like images, symbols and all other things.

Oumlee: she did some of making but she did almost half of writing such as she wrote at least five ESLR bullet points that her group achieved, brief description of how each member of her group contributed to the final product, summarized and grade the final product and the process her group went through, compared and how the symbols, images and sounds will influence or appeal to audience. She also involved during the designing.

Mariano: he was also involved during the designing the memorial and came up with all creative and good ideas. He also did writing. He discussed and explained symbols, images, sounds that are in the memorial. Besides, he made the sound of train, people crying, shouting, calling for help and dying. He also asked questions to his friends and got some more information about the project.

ESLRs we used

Critical thinker:
• Solve problem using a variety of strategies: it was hard to decide the size or the memorial however we solved this problem by drawing the sketch of the memorial and decided the size.

Academic achiever
• Continually asses evaluate and adjust work to maintain high standards: we went through the rubric that Mr. Raisdana told us to print out and we met on Sunday together and checked each others work and graded, added and changed to make it better.

• Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively: during the class we separated works we were told to do. So Mariano and I did most of the writings and Daniel did most of making and building the memorial. We all came up with the design of the memorial and on Sunday we met in Mariano’s house and we went through memorial an all.

Involved citizen
• Demonstrate care and concern for their environment: in English class we all decided how the memorial is going to look like. Also, we decided what we are going to work on independently at home.
• Demonstrate responsibility in active decision making: for making the memorial, we reused materials. For example, Daniel used cardboards for the base and also for some of the walls.

Effectively communicator
• Demonstrate their creative talents to convey ideas: we made the sounds that we needed to use. We also downloaded two because it was kind of impossible to make the sound. The sounds we made were sound of train, sound of people crying, shouting for help and also sound of people in dying in gas chamber.

Self-directed learner
• Take creative risks in developing untried ideas: when we were designing the memorial, were being all creative, like what will be on the right and left sides, which sound will fit into the memorial, what kind of mood we are trying to create, how are we going to show mood we are trying to across and not just simply having statues of Anne Frank and Hitler. For example, we show Anne as a white swan and surrounded by black swans, white represent peace, pure, clean, innocent like Anne and black represent evil and dark side.
• Demonstrate competency in goal setting, time management, and organizational skills: we worked independently at home because during the school day it was difficult for all of us to meet. And we thought it saved our time because when we met on Sunday we did not have a lot of things to do.

Summary and grade for the final product and the process we went through to accomplish this task

First we decide what we were going to do and ended up with making and building the actual memorial. We did not have time to meet during school days so we had to work independently at home. Mariano and Oumlee did writing and Daniel did building the memorial. We had difficult deciding what will go in the memorial because we all wanted to go for different ideas and we argued a lot. But at last we came up with creative ideas and pretty much everyone agreed. We thought separating works were great because we saved our time a lot and on Sunday we did not have to work for a lon time. We checked each others works and told each others things to add and change. We all thought the whole process was well done and organized, because we had enough time to change and add things in and everyone worked on equal amount of work. According to what we think, the final product is well done because we did not have enough time but we put a lot of efforts into this project and worked together. Besides these, we also did all the things we were supposed to do by checking with checklist.

teenlife

Hi, my name is Daniel and I live in an international community, I’m 13. I really like where I live except that my internet is always having problems, for example, yesterday, a man came to our house to fix internet and, because my mom is sick so she couldn’t bring me to a shopping mall so I could buy World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Expansion Pack, I had one with him, I was really happy but hen he finished and internet was working, it was already 8:00PM then I installed the game, reapplied patch 2.0.0 to 2.0.5 it was 10pm, I starred a Dreinei, but, because it is a new race and everyone wanted to try it, my latency was minimum 2473 and max 7765, normally its 900 so I had to log off because of all the lags. Then I had to go to bed… at 3 am I woke up to play but then, the internet broke down… again! As you may have noticed, I really like video games, especially WOW (World of Warcraft), I spend a lot of time on it and I master my level 44 dwarf hunter, in my school not many people play it so if any of you feel like helping/working together, my character name is baler, on frostwolf, alliance. I have two more passions, 1st, my R/C petrol engine 1/8 scale buggy, witch I really enjoy customizing and well, driving. Finally I have a large collection of Warhammers, including more then 10000 points of Orcs, a full scale “The battle for helms deep” (in progress) and I just started the Tau. Well that’s about it for my interests. Now I went on the wiki space and some questions really interested me: How far advanced is your technology in your place? Was one of the questions. Well living in Asia, where a lot of new software’s, games, machines etc. are created I have to say that it is really advanced compared to Europe, sorry, I have only been in the U.S. once when I was 4 years old so I cant compare to USA. Now there was one question where I just stopped reading and just stared at the screen thinking: Is global warming affecting where you live? If it is then how is it changing your current home? What can we do as a community to slow down global warming? Global warming is affecting every one of us and people don’t do anything to stop it form happening! I lived in Malaysia when I was 3 and then, it rained everyday, at 4pm, but now it can rain 24hours then not rain the next day, in other words, the weather has dramatically changed. Our community, I believe, has signed a contract with UN or something to reduce pollution form factories. Well that was me.

my play

Sophie: oh there you are. I was wondering how late you were going to be today.

Evie: I had to wait for my brother and dad to get ready, if that’s ok with you.

Sophie: (sarcastic) of course it is!!

(Awkward pause)

Evie: so let’s get started people, ok 4 of you go there and start training some passes, you 6 go and shoot some loops, hmm… oh and you pump up some balls, they are too soft!!

Sophie: excuse me!

Evie: yeah what?

Sophie: I am the team leader remember, the coach changed leaders! So stop bossing people around and… hmm let me think… you can pump some air in those balls your self!! Oh no, I forgot, you can’t because…

Evie: you’re the new captain? How can you be the new captain? I’m way better than you and… and you’ve only been playing for a year, I’ve played this sport since 1st grade!!

Sophie: you think you’re better than me? You have to be kidding, the coach hated you anyways so yeah, it was meant to be like this, and you can do nothing about it! Oh and buy the way…

Evie: WHAT?

Sophie: we don’t need losers like you so get lost! (Turns around) WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT!!??

(Evie wakes up confused)

Jake: hey, can I come in?

Evie: huh (comes back to earth) ‘course

Jake: WOW, what happened to you? Looks like you had a fight or so!

Evie: well, yeah, kinda.

Jake: WHAT!! Some one came in? A stranger? Call the police, run!!! Haaa!!

Evie: come down, no one came in here… except you… stop looking in my diary. Anyways, I had a bad dream. you know Sophie right?

Jake: … let me think… she is in our grade, she eats at our table, I went out with her… then she dumped me… still friends… yeah, I think I know her. What about it?

Evie: how could you have dated that pest? She’s a living nightmare.

Jake: you know, when I dated her she was nice and kind to me and to others? But what about her?

Evie: she’s…

Jake: WAIT, I know, she’s your new best friend!!

Evie: huh… not exactly what I was about to say… huh? are you crazy? I hate her. And I still cant believe you thought she was nice?

Anyways, she’s took my place as the team captain, and in the dream, she said that… that she wanted to kick me off the team.

Jake: she thinks you’re not good enough?

Evie: I don’t know, but since I came in, we nearly never lost anything worth wining.

Jake: You are the best player I’ve ever seen; remember your first day of school? Remember how you betted everybody else, even the high scholars, so why can you even think that she will kick you out?

Evie: because she hates me more than anything!

Jake: you can’t be serious; you think that a dream saying you get kick off a team may come true?

Voice: hurry up!! Or we will be late for your training!

Jake: well, I guess I’ll see you later then. Don’t be scared, everything is going to be fine.

(Jake exit) 10 minutes later, in the gym

Sophie: oh there you are. I was wondering how late you were going to be today.

Evie: I had to wait for my brother and dad to get ready, if that’s ok with you.

Sophie: (sarcastic) of course it is!!

(Awkward pause)

END

I really liked this exploratory, but I think that the part where we had to create a character was useless, we all changed them a lot (from a Mayan hunter named Tako to a 17 year old brother whose name is Jake). Also, the amount of time to write the plays was to short, I really enjoyed the space jumping and acting out the plays, the actor’s position and all the focusing was actually useful even if I didn’t think so at the start. Finally, I think that the drama exploratory was by far my favorite.

They lived in Atzlan, somewhere in North West Mexico. No one knows why they moved they came to the Valley of Mexico named Anahuac because they where led by their chief. Tenoch had a vision, Huitzilopochtli told him to lead his people to a swampy island in the middle of Lake Texcoco.

Step 2:
Pro: good fishing, better defenses against the enemies
Con: less area to build on, snake infested land.

Step 3:
Gods worships: Tezcatlipoca, Quetzalcoatl, Tlaloc, Chalchiuhtlicue, Huitzilopochtli.
The temples where build for sacrifices to the gods and and to worship them.

Step 4:

The children of poor parents could be sold, usually for only a certain time period. Slaves could buy back their freedom.
The slaves that escaped and reached the royal palace without being caught were given their freedom instantly.

Commoners:
The lower social orders were made up by peasants, were attached to the lands owned by the nobility and were obliged to cultivate them in exchange for part of the harvest.

Nobility:
The nobilities were the people who were nobles by birth, priests, and those who earned their rank. They where the highest rank.

The actual bean doesn't block the bitter sensor on you tong, it is actually the skin that makes this bean special.

War in Iraq

This is the that I wrote a summary of.

The US attacked Iraq.

After months of threats, the United States attacked Iraq on Thursday, March 20, 2003, acting with its military ally, Britain. The war faces strong opposition from France, Germany, Russia, China and the great majority of UN member states as well as world public opinion. The US and the UK, with a military ground force of about 300,000, encountered stiff Iraq resistance. The war has created a deep humanitarian crisis in Iraq and a deep political crisis in the international system.
